The Hairdryer Treatment
It’s still too cold for the tape to expand much on its own. And, with the cold weather due to continue, we have to help things along. I’ve asked Sir Alex Ferguson if he could come round but he said something about having to see a man about a horse.
So, I got the hairdryer out and did it myself. Trying to avoid letting the nozzle too close to the tape, I’ve managed to close most of the gaps. Very much an interesting game played slow, as my dad would have said. Especially at the beginning where most of the hot air just goes out of the window.

For a while it seems to have no effect but slowly the tape expands.

This took about three quarters of an hour. Things get better as the gaps shrink but, especially around the screws, this seems to take forever. It’s not finished but it’s a lot better than it was.
The window fitters should actually have padded the tape with something that it could expand into and we will definitely do this for the rest of the windows, though I don’t think that any of the others will have such large gaps.
