That’s the way to do it!

It looks like our decision yesterday to stop sanding the walls was the right one: some of the dust had escaped upstairs and already settled on the newly oiled floor.

Stopped in the nick of time, repaired and covered up properly. I can’t remember the correct name of the covering but I will find out and learn how to lay it. We agreed that the ground floor will be covered with this once it, too, has been sanded so that everyone can continue their work. I guess we’ll keep it in until we move.
