As Astrid says, it has been a long, hard year. She’s had to deal with all the administration of her mum’s death, then the, unfortunately inevitable, squabbling over the inheritance whilst working full time and shuttling between Angermund (North of Düsseldorf)  and the office on Rodenkirchen (South of Cologne).

She’s taken on all the risk of the house and still manages to have more faith in me than I will ever have myself.

And all this for a cup of coffee in the morning and the odd evening meal. And regular laundry!
