Something to see

A couple of weeks ago we had to enlist the help of friends in order to remove the old kitchen and now the new wiring has been plastered in. Looking at this you can see why it’s increasingly common to use ducts to lay cabling, because replacing it’s such a bloody mess!

The knock through is starting to be patched up.

The plumbers have started to remove the old radiators. It’s no longer possible to get ones with the connections the same distance (48 cm) apart. In the past this meant using extensions at an angle.

This time we’re going to work around this by filling in the niches. Not only will you not be able to see contorted pipes, but it should also improve the insulation a bit.

Even the hole that I’d ripped out of the wall with me overenthusiastic removal of the partition has been repaired.

As has the random hole that was in landing, of which we were informed shortly before we started the renovation. A picture had hung over it for years and they’d just forgotten about it. I guess that’s one way to deal with things.
