Room at the top

It takes quite a bit of imagination, but the attic is going to be Astrid’s realm. Originally it was just somewhere to hang the washing up and store stuff but it has also been a living room, a play room and, most recently, a theatre wardrobe!

The exposed beams are cool but the rest is a bit of a mess: the windows all need replacing, the carpet and its very well glued underlay need ripping up and the radiators removed before a new oak wooden floor can be laid. Oh, that tacky “vodka” plaster and its many grubby fingerprints has also got to go.

At least you have a nice view of the garden jungle.
