An emergency door-ectomy this morning. Going great except that we don’t have a big enough drill bit. But Sascha says he’s seen them in Aldi!

Yesterday I had to pinch myself that it had only been a week since we’d had any new radiators installed. But even the single one in the cellar that we’d had before that had been doing a great job in warming up the floor. That’s from yesterday
Astrid loves sweeping up the twigs from the sequoia. And today she had an audience!
Last night and this morning it was just over 14°C, though it had been 16°C yesterday and I was getting worried… … though it probably also helps that Mr Sauer has tampered with the boiler to increase the water temperature in the pipes: it likes to decide this itself
Just had a call from Mr Sauer. Apparently, one of the neighbours had found a car key and had been going from house to house asking if anyone had lost theirs. Turns out it belongs to one of Mr Sauer’s apprentices. Though Professor Yaffel might have other ideas…
1 metre 40 by 80. Tile down and leave the last row.
While he was bleeding the radiators Mr Sauer noticed water on the floor in the attic. Where could it be coming from? We have had problems with condensation in the roof with all that warm and moist air rising from below, but yesterday everything was dry as a bone. Ivan
It’s already making a big difference. So, why didn’t I think of this on Thursday? Jan and Christian were here again today and have connected the second radiator in the cellar, directly below the kitchen. This will also help warm the floor from below. Hard to believe that
Even it possibly is too cold, Mr Schwalfenberg has started with the floor. The ground floor is already up to 16°C so it should be up to a reasonable temperature on Monday. Just in time because we’re expecting frost!
No floor today. 😔 I called Mr Schwalfenberg to let him know and they’re going to start on the preparatory work anyway today.
