No more black hole

It was a lot gloomier the day I photographed the gloss black ceiling and already evening when I took the picture of its absence, so it’s difficult to gauge the difference it makes.

The same is true for the stairs, where the camera software makes it seem brighter than it really is.

But, as we move into autumn there is a real difference.

Not that I think we’ll paint everything white, because colour, along with accented lighting, is so important for mood. But on those cold and gloomy days, of which we have so many in Düsseldorf, the difference will be palpable.
