Keeping things in perspective
I didn’t sleep particularly well last night due to an allergy brought on by the plaster dust that has filled the house again. Dust on our lovely floor!
But after a weekend of storms that have left some people without a roof or power. On Monday our glazer called to cancel all appointments because he and his team had been working round the clock dealing with the storm damage. But also one of his employees had broken a wrist.
And, then this morning Ivan and his son Sergei arrived after Russia has started to attack Ukraine and is effectively at war with the whole of Europe.
The look on his face. Sergei arrived on Friday with Olga but Oleg is still in school in Ukraine. What should they do? What can they do? What can we all do.
We have a roof over our heads, food on the table and the lights are on. Yes, it’s frustrating that work on the house hasn’t finished. Yes, we should be worried about the floors. But, really, we’re really, really lucky.
