Ich hatte einen grünen Garten*

Years of neglect meant that, was left of the lawn, was mainly moss. In addition, it was pretty uneven with some fairly deep holes that were concealed by the grass; twisted ankles guaranteed!

Today, in our third trip to the DIY shop this week, we rented a kind of plough to cut through the roots of all the ivy and brambles to stop them growing again.

Ivan reckons he’ll need to give it all another going over next week. And then we’ll need to lay a new lawn. Tips for a new lawn welcome!

In the meantime, I’m going to get some synthetic grass and hope SWMBO doesn’t notice!

Archeology in the garden

This was the foot for a parasol. I’m not sure what the wheels were for? Ideas?
