Got to start somewhere

At some point the house was divided into flats, and even though Astrid sister and her family have been living there alone for the last 30 years, they’ve never taken out the partition.

The staircase is actually a lot darker than it appears on the photo. That window is north facing so there is some reflected sunlight from the next house, but little light from the much bigger west window. Oh, and that little thing on a string? That really is a light bulb.
