A New Floor
When I was removing the partition in the upstairs landing, it looked like underneath the laminate there were traces of the original wooden floor. If this was true then it would mean we wouldn’t need to worry about new flooring first floor. But we’d need to take up the laminate to be sure.
Luckily we had a more than willing volunteer.
Bine die Baummeisterin

Bine got out her crow bar and got on with the job: under the laminate was carpet and below that

Just in time too, because in a couple of days the carpenter is coming to sand the stairs all the way up to the attic.
We don’t have time to do the other rooms this week, especially my study with the chipboard beneath the tiles beneath the carpet. But we can deal with that next year.
