A mystery solved?

As you know, we don’t know the origins of the name of the street we’re moving to. So, it was great delight when we opened this week’s postbag that, next to a postcard from our regular correspondent, Mrs Trellis of North Wales - and, no, Mrs Trellis, we don’t know when the best time for harvesting sea weed in Peru is - that we also found a note about the potential origins of Sengelsweg from an eagle-eyed Kerstin D. from Hamburg who writes to say that “the name Sengel could come from a canon from a church in Düsseldorf.”

This certainly confirms the name as a local one, even if we still don’t know quite what a Sengel is. But if we see one we’ll certainly let you know!😄

In meantime we will continue to play Mornington Crescent, by the Hanseatic rules, obviously!,
